Just as we want to be a pioneer with technology, we at ibis Budget Oostende Airport also want to distinguish ourselves by going to great lengths to relieve the earth as much as possible.
The world around us needs our attention. The lifestyle that we all want to adopt requires a lot from our beloved Mother Nature. It is essential to be aware of this, and each of us bears the responsibility of treating our hometown, the Earth, in a respectful manner.
This was already taken into account when the hotel was built in 2018. The decision was quickly made to go for eco-efficient installations. For example, the hotel is heated in the winter, and cooled in the summer, with the latest generation of energy-efficient heat pumps. All water pipes are hyper-insulated, ensuring minimum energy waste. As is now customary, part of the hotel’s water supply is provided by rainwater, which is collected in huge cisterns, and in the Wadi in our garden.
Our guests will find evidence of our efforts everywhere. For example, you will no longer find plastic cups or other disposable products in your bedroom. Also on our breakfast buffet you will not find any plastic cups. On our extensive breakfast buffet you will find many eco- or organic products, such as the beans for our coffee, the muesli or the fruit we offer. In our snack machine you will find ubio-noodles, a and organic popcorn. In our parking lot you will find a number of bicycles with which you can go anywhere.
You will also notice that we rarely print the invoice on paper.We deliberately choose to send it via mail after check-out .
You may also ask our staff about our cycling routes, which will guide you to the most beautiful places in the surrounding nature.
Please also note that we are absolutely open to your suggestions. For we are aware that we will have to rely on the goodness of our Mother Earth for a very long time, and that we must do everything we can to make things as easy as possible for her.
